The folks over at Visual.ly create some fun info graphics. Like this one for mommy bloggers.

Super Easy Baby Blanket

It's time for lots of knitting for me and there's a new baby coming soon to our very large extended family. These super easy baby blankets by the Purl Bee caught my eye because of the graphic color combinations they've created. You can buy their kits already put together (love the names of them) or they have the pattern online for free here. Sometimes it's nice just to knit one stitch over and over, if your like me (I am not an expert knitter) I forget what stitch I'm on often..that's not good :) This blanket consist of just the garter stitch which is a nice stitch that lies flat and is the same on both sides. The only problem I have now is which colors to choose!

Knitted headbands

I just got a great book of patterns by designer Orla Kiely called, Pattern. It's so awesome and filled with wonderful inspiration and insight to her style and creative process. I had to go to her site today and fell in love with her new fall collection. Loved this headband and it reminded me of all the other ones I've been seeing around this season. So I'm on a quest to make a few this holiday!
Crafter Elisa McLaughlin also has some wonderful designs that can be crocheted. And she has a little etsy where you can purchase her patterns.
Love this one, so simple and a neck warmer as well!

I'm thinking the grand baby needs one too, love these one's by Mon Petit Violon, so sweet!

Must have!

Fiber Arts for Your Soul

Designer Dana Barnes is the creative mind behind “Souled Objects” a wonderful collection of fiber arts and a tribute to craft and the human touch in modern environments. The work is absolutely beautiful and how wonderful to create with such large pieces of yarn. LOVE!
“ Dana's vision is to warm and humanize modern environments with innovative handmade pieces that not only expand the boundary of textile use in interiors, but also commemorate the longstanding tradition of craft. With an emphasis on preserving the tactile nature of the material, each piece is designed to promote a deeper connection that is inherently personal, the rapport intimate. The result is a collection of functional and timeless objects that are sophisticated yet approachable, distinct yet understated; objects that exude a natural flawed beauty creating an emotional link between design and real life. “Souled Objects” is a collection of unique works that explores the manipulation and sculpting of fibers and textiles through a modern reinterpretation of traditional skills and techniques passed on by generations of artisans.  The collection of floor coverings and interior furnishings celebrates the inevitable imperfections that result from crafting each piece using only the human hand – a process that imparts individual beauty, character, and soul.”

Wooden Bike Lights & Wild Stuff

These hand crated bike lights by Mr. Lentz are super sweet. They would look so awesome on my cruiser too! Using wilderness as is muse, he also crafts lovely wooden jewelry and other wooden devices. His WearNature: Beast Series is inspired by the Great Plains of Colorado and the simple designs are quite elegant. These rings made from squirrel and buffalo hair are my favorites.

Buffalo Hair...wonder were he get's this?
